John Van Klaveren has more than 30 years experience in media, public relations and marketing. He has worked as a journalist, photojournalist, editor, consultant and writer for organisations as varied as Geelong Advertiser, World Vision, Geelong Business News and Gordon Institute of TAFE.

Businesses and organisations he has assisted include: Victorian Regional Channels Authority; G-Force Group; Deakin University; Badminton Geelong; ResCom Real Estate; People At Work; Lake Imaging; GMHBA; CFA; Superannuation Complaints Tribunal; Melbourne Citymission; Plan International; Chadstone Shopping Centre.

His experience has taken him around Australia and to several far-flung corners of the globe. He has gathered material for print, radio and television while covering situations such as the Ethiopian famine of the mid-80s, the Lebanese civil war in the late 80s and the first gulf war from Jordan. 

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, public relations and advertising, and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management. 

He is currently a board member of Bethany Community Support and United Way Geelong Region, where he also chairs the Corporate Partners and Promotions Committee.
